Here are some important facts about the school system:

  • In Canada, all children aged 6 to 16 must go to school or get a formal education.
  • There are 32 elementary schools and 6 secondary schools to educate children in Northumberland County.
  • The school year in Northumberland County runs from early September to late June.
  • There are summer school course and recreational programs offered by many schools from June to September.
