2015 Forum - Crossing Borders: Northumberland's Global Connections

The 2014 forum celebrated Northumberland's international connections as well as the impact of local agencies' work abroad. Northumberland County is proud of the social and economic contribution of its immigrants. And we continue to welcome newcomers into our community. For our second immigration and diversity forum we highlighted a different type of border crossing - that of local efforst and initiatives at international humanitarian work and local groups taking part of the national project of sponsoring Syrian refugees. 

MPP Cristina Martins, Parliamentary Assistant to the Ontario Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade gave the keynote address. Other topics covered in the forum:

2013 Forum - Welcoming Diversity

Our first immigration forum, which we hosted with Northumberland United Way, on Wednesday, 5 June 2013 at the Best Western Cobourg, from 8:30am to 3pm was attended by at least 50 participants representing 24 community agencies and organizations.
